The ACS range of Air Cooled Scroll packaged chillers, for outdoor application features multiple scroll Compressors and quiet axial fans on standard versions. Dunham-Bush patented cooler boosts C.O.P. values in full and part load conditions. They are available in 12 sizes covering a capacity range from 35 - 250 kW.

All ACS series have been designed for application with Ice Thermal Storage operation (Dunham-Bush ICE-CEL®).

CASING
Casing is made of galvanized and coated steel providing high corrosion resistance for outdoor application. All panels are very easy to open for total access to components inside the machine for maintenance purposes.

A rigid steel baseframe from size 26 and up ensures a solid base during hoisting and operation.

MULTIPLE SCROLL COMPRESSOR 1, 2 or 3 CIRCUITS
Compressors are the industrial scroll type providing highest performance with low noise operation. The electric motor is protected with thermostat to prevent thermal overload. All units have 1, 2 or 3 refrigerant circuits.

V-DESIGN AIR COOLED CONDENSER
Finned coil of large surface, with seamless inner grooved copper tubes and die formed aluminum fins in staggered configuration. V-coil design to increase condensing surface. Position of coils is such that risk of wind chill is reduced in winter operation. Fan cycling is a standard feature for maintaining head pressure at various ambient conditions. V-design coils for sizes 26 and up.

HEAVY DUTY AXIAL FANS
Low speed direct drive fans are axial type, with blades statically and dynamically balanced. The electric motors are Class F type and suitable for outdoor installation. High pressure axial fan motor combinations or centrifugal fans are available as special option.

REDUCED GLOBAL WARMING & ENERGY SAVING
The highly efficient ACS chillers now offer the opportunity to save energy and reduce global warming, even for small and medium size capacities. Application with Dunham-Bush Ice -Cel ® Thermal Storage systems will even further reduce the use of electricity during peak hours of power plants and may reduce chiller size substantially.

PATENTED DUNHAM-BUSH SHELL & TUBE INNERFIN®
Dunham-Bush has a long experience in design and manufacture of SHELL & TUBE evaporators. In the direct expansion evaporator the refrigerant flows through the tubes, while in the shell the cooled water flows via multiple baffles.

The following are the advantages of using SHELL & TUBE evaporator over the use of plate type:
1. Higher capacity and higher C.O.P. with the same compressor:
The Shell & Tube evaporator with all the Innerfin® tubes efficiently exchanging heat with the boiling refrigerant enable a small rT between the ‘boiling’ liquid refrigerant temperature in the tubes and the leaving chilled water temperature. This rT is typically 30% smaller than with plate type. This enhances the C.O.P. substantially compared to version with plate type direct expansion evaporators.

2. Better Part-Load performance:
The Dunham-Bush Air Cooled Rotary Scroll Chiller with its sophisticated control ensures superior full-load efficiency and optimized part-load efficiency as the full heat transfer surface areas of the cooler tubes are utilized due to its Innerfin® patented design

*Scroll hermetic type operating at 2950 RPM (50Hz); 3550 RPM (60Hz). *High EER, low sound power level and high reliability. *Controlled orbit with floating seals and advanced scroll geometry. *No-contact scroll design and 100% motor cooled by suction gas. *Thermostat fitted to prevent thermal overload.  *Capability of 50% tandem unloading.

Evaporator
*Vessels constructed in accordance to ASME CODES Sections Vlll Division I for unfired pressure vessels.  *Dunham-Bush high efficiency inner-fin tubes design for compactness and weight reduction.  *250 psig on refrigerant side design pressure. *150 psig on water side design pressure.

The ACCS-HP series with new features is suitable for hotel, office, hospitals, schools, factory and supermarket applications. The low noise and compact series are completely leak tested, evacuated, dehydrated and charged with dry nitrogen to maintain system “dryness” prior to field piping connections.
